Merit was founded by Cornelius Conlon in 2004, when data and code really started changing the world. Cornelius believed that SMEs were unable to access the potential innovation, intelligence and expertise that would enable them to transition and transform in the face of this change. And so, Merit was born. Just 9 people, blending expertise from UK and India for the best of both worlds.


With over 1,000 employees and offices in Chennai, Mumbai and London, we support some of the world’s leading b2b information and media businesses including The Financial Times, Dow Jones, Informa and Ascential. We also enable smaller, pioneering brands that value our progressive and straightforward approach. The DATA + CODE we deliver supports innovative, flexible and efficient growth.


To help b2b brands embrace the future we created Merit LABS, an incubator to build artificial intelligence into our clients’ products and processes. This enables access to innovations that can transform their product offering, like language translation and speech and voice recognition, without the usual risk or expense. We bridge the gap between tomorrow’s tech and today’s reality.

    Cornelius is one of Merit’s founders, starting the company in 2004 after already building an impressive resume in technology and software. Con oversees the team in India and is focused on developing the staff and leadership, monitoring customer delivery and exploring new ways of delivering exceptional results.

  • Ben Tindall

    Sales and Marketing Director

    A key component in Merit’s strategic growth over the years, Ben has immense experience in the b2b media sector. With Merit since 2004, Ben has worked successfully in India for over a decade. Ben enjoys working closely with clients to identify the service and products that will have the strongest impact on their future.

  • Karin Thomas

    Head of Operations

    Responsible for the day-to-day operations in Merit’s Mumbai and Chennai offices, Karin ensures a first-class service is always delivered to Merit’s internal and external stakeholders. An expert in customer service, operations and management, Karin worked for Lloyds TSB for 22 years before joining Merit in 2013.

  • Gladys Christopher

    Head of Business Solutions and Transitions

    Gladys drives the planning and implementation of tangible, cost-effective data solutions and time bound project transitions that help Merit and clients achieve business and financial objectives. In addition to her core role, Gladys champions a range of strategic initiatives within the IT team -supporting business development and compliance.

    With Merit at its foundation, Ian has twenty years’ rich experience in the data and IT services sector. Excited about the new wave of opportunity technologies such as AI and machine learning offers, Ian relishes working closely with clients and advising them on all things technology and data related.

    Daniel has dedicated his entire career to specialising in data. Responsible for mapping and developing existing client relations as well as acquiring new business, Daniel draws inspiration from helping clients understand the power of data and how they can use it to enhance business performance and drive revenue growth.

  • Cliff Pereira

    Head of Marketing Automation

    Cliff brings 13 years of high-level global marketing experience to Merit. Holder of a marketing MBA, Cliff enables clients to maximise their engagement with their customers through intelligent use of the latest automation tools. His passion is understanding customer behaviour and using the insight that brings to drive campaigns.

    Head of IT

    A graduate in Mathematics with a strong academic background in software engineering, Suresh is fiercely committed to ensuring the technology solutions Merit provides clients are the most cost-effective and creative solutions possible. Part of Merit for 12 years, Suresh thrives on the ever-changing technology landscape and the opportunities it brings.

    Part of Merit since 2004, Ramani has an impressive CV, including roles with GE and Citicorp. Ramani is a strong believer in the power of technology to reshape HR and enjoys integrating new tools and techniques to improve the efficiency and agility of Merit’s HR team.
